Case study 02 / Development / prototype

Maintenance Request System

A full-stack maintenance workflow prototype for submitting requests, following progress, and administering access.

The problem

Context & approach

Maintenance work needs a consistent request history, clear status, and access appropriate to each person’s role.

I worked on a full-stack workflow that brings request intake, status tracking, and administration into one application, with attention to permission boundaries.

The implementation

Engineering decisions

01

Authentication and authorization

Authentication establishes the user identity; role and permission checks determine available actions and request visibility. Request filtering includes ownership and restricted-access rules.

02

Request lifecycle

Submission, request detail views, status changes, and administrative controls support the maintenance workflow. This is presented as prototype functionality, without claims of production adoption.

03

Verification focus

The source includes tests for authentication, request filtering, request details, forms, and administrative user flows. Those areas reflect the importance of checking both allowed and denied behavior.

Let’s discuss the work.

I’m happy to walk through the implementation, verification process, and project limitations in a conversation.
